4th and 5th grade students have been doing line drawing studies of buildings in the Red Square in Moscow, Russia. First, we focused on breaking down our buildings into basic geometric shapes. Next, we added smaller geometric shapes and last we added ornate patterns to our buildings. | |
The Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed, commonly known as Saint Basil's Cathedral, is a church in Red Square in Moscow, Russia and is one of the most popular symbols of the country. It was built from 1555–1561 on orders from Ivan the Terrible and commemorates the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan. It was the city's tallest building until the completion of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower in 1600.
Kazan Cathedral also known as the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan, is a cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church on the Nevsky Prospekt in Saint Petersburg. It is dedicated to Our Lady of Kazan, one of the most venerated icons in Russia. |
Kindergarten and first grade students created a variety of different sized nesting dolls using paper, scissors, glue, gel pens, colored pencils, and construction paper crayons. Students also enjoyed playing with real wooden nesting dolls! | |
