Kindergarten and second grade students made their very own clay beads this week in art class! We used polymer clay to create one of a kind beads that we baked in the oven. While our beads were baking we researched different ways to make symmetry and patterns in jewelry. Students were given the opportunity to explore a variety of plastic, glass, wood, and clay beads before creating their necklace! After our beads cooled from the oven, each student was given the opportunity to build their one of a kind necklace. Over the course of this three week lesson we spent time revising and changing our designs. In the gallery below, count how many necklaces feature a symmetrical design and how many feature a pattern!
