The Clean Stream Champion Coloring Contest is back for 2021!

The Clean Stream Champion Coloring Contest is an educational opportunity for New Castle County kids (below the age of 18) to practice their artistic skills, learn some everyday environmental science, and maybe win some cool prizes! Here’s how it works:

Starting Monday, May 24, 2021 — young artists can submit art that showcases any one of five habits that help keep county waterways clean. Deadline for entry is Friday, June 11, 2021.

Who can enter?
This is a student art contest , an art contest for children,
an art contest for kids, a whole school art contest.
Basically any student in grades K-12 can enter.

Three Contest Deadlines:
April 8, 2021 - August 12, 2021 - December 2, 2021
(Students can enter one piece in each contest)

What is a calligrapher?

Calligraphers use special pens, brushes, and ink to produce ornamental writing. They typically use a range of fonts and styles, combining traditional and modern calligraphy as required. Calligraphers frequently create invitations, signs, portions of diplomas, and paint letter designs and words on walls for advertisements.

What is a puppeteer?
A puppeteer is a person who manipulates an inanimate object, called a puppet, to create the illusion that the puppet is alive. The puppet is often shaped like a human, animal, or legendary creature. The puppeteer may be visible to or hidden from the audience.

What is an architect?

An architect is a person who designs buildings and prepares plans to give to a builder. What he or she designs is called architecture. Architects make drawings with pens, pencils, and computers, and this is also called drafting. Sometimes they first make small toy-sized buildings called models to show what the building will look like when it is done.

What is a graphic designer?

Graphic design is problem solving and communication in visual form. Like a piece of a puzzle, graphic design, from logos to advertisements should make the world a little easier through which to travel. Graphic designers combine art and technology to communicate ideas through images and the layout of web screens and printed pages.
