Inspired by Eric Carle's "The Grouchy Ladybug" students in grades K-2 created their very own bug jars using the primary colors. The three primary colors are Red, Yellow, and Blue. Within our unit on color it is crucial for students to understand that the primary colors are used to make all of the other colors on the color wheel. Using primary colored paint and our pointer fingers, we created bugs using our finger prints. After letting our paint dry, students added details with pens and permanent markers.
To remember our primary colors we listened to a very funny educational song by the band O.K. GO from Sesame Street called " Primary colors"
